MANILA, Philippines — Nagpahayag ng labis na pagkaalarma ang kampo ni Vice Pres. Leni Robredo hinggil sa mga ulat na pagtatayo ng mga missile system sa tatlong isla sa West Phillipine Sea na bahagi ng South China Sea na pag-aari ng Pilipinas. “We are alarmed at the reports stating that the People’s Republic of China has installed missile systems on 3 of our islands in the West Philippine Sea, namely, Kagitingan, Zamora, and Panganiban Reefs,” wika ni Robredo. Dahil dito ay hinikayat ni Robredo ang admi­nistrasyong Duterte na magsampa ng diplomatic protest laban sa bansang China upang igiit ang karapatan ng Pilipinas. “The increased militarization is in violation of UNCLOS and serves to contribute to regional instability, compromise our security, and further curtail our sovereignty,” dagdag ni Robredo.
