LEGAZPI CITY, Philippines — At least 12 aftershocks were recorded in Catanduanes and Albay minutes after a magnitude-6 earthquake jolted Luzon and the Visayas on Saturday. The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (Phivolcs) said the aftershocks occurred between 2:21 p.m. and 11:40 p.m. in Pandan, Catanduanes. Another aftershocks was recorded at 7:06 a.m. in Baras town and at 11:48 a.m. in Pandan as well as at 6:26 p.m. in Rapu-Rapu, Albay. Ed Laguerta, Phivolcs resident geologist said the earthquake was expected to generate aftershocks. The Office of the Civil Defense in Bicol said no casualty or damage to property had been reported from the quake.
