But in a new document cited by GhanaWeb, it confirms how closely that the US had its eyes on Dr Kwame Nkrumah while he was president of Ghana. The document, which was a national security briefing from the US National Security Adviser at the time, McGeorge “Mac” Bundy, to then-President Lyndon Baines Johnson. The document portrayed how McGeorge Bundy was frustrated with Kwame Nkrumah. He added that Kwame Nkrumah was becoming less of a trouble. “Mr President:This is mush, but it helps — and Nkrumah has been less of a monkey lately,” the document, which was dated May 21, 1964, read.
