National Security Adviser Michael Flynn allegedly discussed sanctions with a Russian envoy despite previously denying having done so, officials say. Flynn on Wednesday denied that he had discussed sanctions with Kislyak. “I called to say I couldn’t believe the murder of their ambassador,” Flynn said. Trump transition officials acknowledged those contacts weeks later after they were reported in The Washington Post but denied that sanctions were discussed. Trump officials have previously denied that Flynn spoke to the Russian ambassador about U.S. sanctions.
