Subhankar ChowdhuryCollege Street: Calcutta University will expedite the dereservation process so that seats in colleges and the university don't remain vacant, a university official said on Sunday. In November 2017, the higher education department had sent notices to universities, including CU, twice to remind them of the act. In case of CU, this process takes more than a month, a university official said. "Now that the semester system has started it's important students start the course at the earliest even if they are admitted through dereservation." So, the university wants to wrap up the dereservation process at the earliest, he said.
