Deputy Prime Minister Paula Bennett sustained a nasty bruise to her left bicep at a Taupo Formula 1 event on Sunday. The bruise emerged overnight on Sunday after Bennett was in a racing car at the Bruce McLaren Motorsport Park, being driven at 290kmh. A spokeswoman from her office said the Deputy PM was not quite sure how she had actually sustained the bruise.
