Second person dies following Rangitikei Line crashWARWICK SMITH / FAIRFAX NZ Nathan David Karatau, 34, died when two trucks collided on Rangitikei Line. Stephanie Budding was critically injured when the vehicle she and her mother were travelling in and a truck collided on Rangitikei Line, State Highway 3, just outside of Palmerston North on January 9. Stephanie was taken to the intensive care unit at Wellington Hospital, but was later transferred back to Palmerston North Hospital. Earlier in the month, on January 4, father of five Nathan "Nate" David Karatau, 34 was killed when two trucks collided on Rangitikei Line on January 4. On Monday, they were in a stable condition in Palmerston North Hospital, as were two people also taken to hospital after a two-car crash in Horowhenua on Saturday.
