HSIA Director Group Captain AHM Touhid-ul Ahsan told Dhaka Tribune that due to dense fog from 6am to 9am, a Garuda Airlines flight from Indonesia was diverted to Delhi while several domestic flights were delayed. Farzana Sultana, assistant meteorologist at Dhaka airport said at 6am, there was zero visibility at the airport and it remained till 9am with slight improvement. The lowest visibility was 50 metres till 9am, she added. Thick fog often disrupts operations at the country’s airports during winter.
