“The vaccines are likely to arrive on January 31,” Civil Surgeon Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi told Dhaka Tribune on Friday. The northeastern district is set to receive a total of 38 boxes, each containing 1200 vials, of vaccines in the first consignment, according to him. Chittagong has logged nearly 33,000 cases of Covid-19 since the pandemic unfolded in Bangladesh in March last year. With a mortality rate of 1.12%, the death toll from the virus in Chittagong stands at 369 as of Thursday. Of them, 4,173 people recovered while undergoing treatment at different hospitals while 26,461 people have recovered at their homes.
