The Civic Party's Dennis Kwok said he is not concerned about being stripped of his candidacy for the Legislative Council elections in September, saying "worrying can't change anything" as he submitted his bid to seek re-election for the legal sector seat in the legislature, RTHK reports. "It doesn't matter whether you're worried about DQ [disqualification]... you can't change anything either way," Kwok told reporters. Kwok said because his fellow Professionals Guild members are signing a confirmation letter swearing allegiance to the SAR, he is also signing "to show unity". The pro-democracy camp's Information Technology sector hopeful, Wong Ho-wa, also planned to do the same. The confirmation letter has become a matter of controversy within the pro-democracy camp, with the more progressive fractions of the camp wanting others not to sign it to show unity among them.
