The residents, now desperate, have vowed to stay put and resist any bid to bulldoze their community. Deputy Bangkok Governor Jakkapan Phiewngarm and Vallop Suwandee, chief adviser to Governor Pol General Aswin Kwanmuang, led a team Monday that erected a board announcing plans to demolish all 37 old structures, as well as five new buildings in the community. The board went up at the Fort. “The demolition will take place under laws,” Jakkapan said. He noted that the plot occupied by the Fort Community belonged to the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration (BMA).
