Oke, who is a prominent member of Moro Concerned Elders Movement, also appealed to the government not to accede to Alhaji Woru Mohammed, Magaji Nda of Ilorin’s warning against restoring grading of Moro Local Government’s monarchs. Oke alleged that the people of the local government are being victimised by the leadership of Ilorin Emirate. Oke, in a statement alleged that the Ilorin chief, recently referred to their traditional rulers as “lesser chiefs”. He said there had been renewed agitation by various groups in the local government that they should be separated from Ilorin Emirate arguing that they do not traditionally and historically belong to an emirate system. “Besides, they maintained that Moro Local Government is in the Kwara Northern District while Ilorin Emirate is in the Kwara Central,” he added.
