Delhi's second airport to operate first flight from today


After an eight-month-long wait, the first commercial flight from the Hindon civil airport will start from today, 11th October. "Flight connectivity from Hindon airport (Ghaziabad) to Hubballi Airport (K'taka) to begin from 6th November. First commercial flight, by a private airline Air Heritage, from Hindon civil airport will take off on October 11, for Uttarakhand's Pithoragarh," Hindon Airport director Shobha Bhardwaj told ANI. Hindon Airport will reduce the burden on Delhi's IGI AirportReducing the load at Delhi's Indira Gandhi International (IGI) Airport, Hindon will serve as the ‘second’ airport. Distance of Hindon Airport from Delhi IGI AirportHindon airport, which is around 40 kms from the IGI Airport in Delhi, belongs to the Indian Air Force (IAF) and the AAI has developed a civil enclave inside it.
