The Kejriwal-led government has decided to partially reopen schools in Delhi for students of classes 10 and 12 from August 9. According to the orders issued by the government of Delhi, students will be able to visit their school for admission related work, counselling or guidance and practical activities for board exams. He also said that the government has received over 35,000 suggestions on the issue of reopening schools. A special committee of experts will be set up along with the Education and Health departments officials to plan detailed standard operating procedures (SOPs) for reopening schools and colleges. Before taking this decision, the Delhi government had also taken suggestions from teachers and parents considering the COVID-19 situation in Delhi.
