Delhi High Court restrains Asus from using zen as trademark

New Delhi: The Delhi High Court has restrained mobile manufacturing company Asus Technology from using the mark “ZEN", “ZENFONE" and other similar terms while selling mobile phones and other products. The case was filed by Telecare Network India Pvt Ltd against ASUS Technology Pvt Ltd. It had contended that ASUS Technology had subsequently adopted an identical trademark ZENFONE for selling identical goods. Counsel for Asus Technology, Sandeep Sethi, contended that Asus was spearheaded by Jonney Shih, a staunch believer of the zen philosophy. The plaintiff company was represented by Mudit Sharma and Parvez Alam Khan while Asus Technology was represented by Sethi, Daksh Kumar and Sumit R Sharma.
