According to information gathered, while contender Michael Okyere Baafi is splashing GHC4,000 to each delegate, incumbent Mark Assibey-Yeboah is giving $1,000. The New Juaben South is one of the hottest constituencies in the Eastern Region as it has never contained a parliamentary candidate more than one term. However, Dr. Assibey-Yeboah has held the fort for two terms, and campaigns have been so high against him this time. The New Juaben South Organiser, Alhaji Abubakar Alhassan aka B. Wassa, displayed his ballot paper before putting it in the ballot box.
