The weather cleared and open sign hoisted for the start of the 2019/2020 Southland senior club cricket competition on Saturday. It's a special year for the Marist club as it celebrates 100 years. Opening bowlers James Ng and Tom McCabe were the pick of the Marist bowlers taking three and two wickets respectively. Southland Boys' High School also got its season off to a winning start on Saturday picking up a 35-run win over the Metropolitan Tigers.
