Speaking to the media after the oath, Mukabbir said, “I came here with my party’s permission. Later, Gono Forum expelled Mansur from the party for defying the coalition decision. On Monday, Mukabbir wrote to parliament on the official pad of the Gono Forum expressing his renewed interest to be sworn in. But Gono Forum General Secretary Mostafa Mohsin Montu said no such decision was taken in the party forum. Gono Forum Executive President Subrata Chowdhury alleged that Mukabbir wrote to parliament on Gono Forum’s pad without the party’s authorisation.
