Deiderick John Grant, known as “DJ” was killed at a Hamilton property in June 2020. A dispute between two members of the same gang came to a violent and unexpected end when one grabbed a ballpoint pen and stabbed the other to death with it. Christel Yardley/Stuff John Kina Edwards has admitted using a plastic ballpoint pen to stab Deiderick Grant repeatedly. During the assault the ballpoint pen broke. Christel Yardley/Stuff Police launched a homicide investigation after Deiderick John Grant, or ‘DJ’, died at his Slim Street, Hamilton, home in June 2020.
