Like a large portion of the country, the west Waikato township had been bombarded with rain at the start of the week – which saw around 500sqm of broccoli covered in fresh water. “It was actually quite pretty to see it when [the broccoli] was submerged under the water – it would have been interesting diving through it,” Cato said.
