Dean Bell leads panel to appoint next Kiwis coachWD Dean Bell says there should be no excuses for the Kiwis not being competitive. Dean Bell expects the Kiwis to attract some high-profile coaching candidates but is keeping an open mind as to whether current NRL coaches could juggle both roles. Bell, a former New Zealand test captain, is leading a panel made up of former Kiwis coach Frank Endacott, ex-Kiwis international Monty Betham and former Silver Ferns captain and coach Waimarama Taumaunu, who have been tasked with finding the next coach of the national side. The position was left vacant after David Kidwell's contract expired following last year's disastrous World Cup, which saw the Kiwis crash out in the quarterfinals. "I think that will be part of the job description of the new coach, to help with that pathway," Bell said.
