David Flitcroft has resigned his post at Swindon TownMansfield have named David Flitcroft as their new manager following the departure of Steve Evans. Evans, who resigned on Tuesday, has been hired by Peterborough and Flitcroft has now left Swindon in order to take the vacant job at Field Mill. Mansfield chairman John Radford said: "We have acted swiftly and diligently in appointing our new manager and are delighted to welcome David Flitcroft. Steve Evans left Mansfield earlier this weekBut Swindon said: "Swindon Town Football Club can confirm that it has accepted the resignations of manager Dave Flitcroft and his assistant Ben Futcher. "(Midfielder) Matt Taylor has taken over first-team affairs on a temporary basis whilst we search for a permanent replacement to take the club forward."
