He has taken a hiatus from the limelight in recent years but The Office's David Brent has just released a music video for his new folk song Lady Gypsy. It's going to be a big year for Ricky Gervais' most famous alter ego with a post-Office spinoff mockumentary on his folk music career with the band Foregone Conclusion. The video is faux folk with a tacky traditional English theme and ridiculous lyrics. David Brent: Life on the Road will chronicle the band's self-funded UK tour and is due for release on August 19, and if this music video is anything to go by he is back to his cringe-inducing best. The awkwardly contrived facial expressions and badly synced guitar strumming show that Gervais hasn't forgotten how to portray the bumbling Brent - though he has emphasised before that this will not be an Office film.
