Almost everyone had something to celebrate – the Nats got a healthy vote, Labour greatly increased their share, NZFirst held the balance of power and the Greens were still in parliament. Labour didn't get enough votes to make a deal with NZ First look that likely. The Māori Party was dispatched by Māori voters and paid the price for supporting National. Bill English is a hero in his own party for coming back in the last two weeks of the campaign.
