A 71-year-old man appeared in the Hutt Valley District Court on Tuesday to face drug charges and for participation in organised criminal activity. GBL is often used recreationally and also has a reputation as a date rape drug. On the same day police broke up a Wellington-based drug ring by seizing a record 400L of GBL in a joint investigation with NZ Customs called Operation Skipjack.
