Dahi Handi mandals have taken to the streets in protest of the Supreme Court's verdict on the height of the human pyramid. Over 500 Dahi Handi mandals from across the city gathered at Shivaji Park on Sunday to protest against the Supreme Court order, which stated that minors cannot participate in the celebrations and Handis cannot go beyond 20ft in height. "The Dahi Handi Utsav Samanvay Samiti (DHUSS) has not organised the protest," said DHUSS secretary Kamlesh Bhoir. Today they are talking about Dahi Handi, then it will be Ganpati festival's turn. When asked if the President had the power to overturn the SC order, Bhoir said, "He can suspend the SC order for a few days."
