SHAH ALAM: A parent was picked as the first main prize winner of RM10,000 for the National Higher Education Fund Corporation’s (PTPTN) monthly draw under its Cabutan WOW! Mohd Ashik Abdullah, 42, had opened an account under PTPTN’s SSPN-i savings scheme since May last year for his son, Muhammad Salahuddin. Ashik, a pilot, said it was important for parents to start early to save for their children’s higher education. “By starting to save early, parents will rely less on loans for educational purposes when the time comes,” he said. She said the monthly prize draw would continue until Dec 31.
