DSP Blackrock restricts flows in micro cap fund

MUMBAI: DSP Blackrock Mutual Fund has decided to restrict flows into its top performing small-cap scheme. "The mandate of the fund is to invest in companies beyond the top 300 companies by market capitalisation," said DSP Blackrock Mutual Fund's portfolio manager Vinit Sambre, who manages the micro-cap fund. AUM of smallcap mutual fund schemes has reached almost Rs20,000 crore, according to Value Research. Fund managers of other mutual funds concede, in private, that they are finding it tough to manage the flow of money meant of smaller shares. Fund managers said sizeable chunks in small-cap shares are in short supply at this juncture making it difficult for them to deploy the money.
