In a statement on Friday, the DNCC said it used 20 trucks to remove the waste from the area and dump it at the Aminbazar landfill. A total of 350 DNCC staff conducted the cleaning operation from Friday morning. The BNP used the road as the venue to welcome back its de facto leader Tarqiue on Thursday. Tarique went directly to his mother’s bedside at Evercare Hospital after attending the homecoming reception. The DNCC said BNP’s local leaders and activists also helped its staff run the cleaning operation.
