Members of the Department of Narcotics Control (DNC) have arrested about 25 drug dealers from Dhaka and the surrounding areas in response to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina’s call on Wednesday for an immediate anti-drugs drive. DNC teams with the assistance of police teams have been conducting the anti-drugs raids since Wednesday night, in response to the prime minister’s order for an anti-drugs drive during the parliamentary session on Wednesday. The leaves of all DNC employees have been canceled to ensure maximum success in these raids. Mukul also noted that mobile courts would join the anti-drugs drive in the future. The Prime Minister provided a quick response to the issue raised by the Jatiya Party MP with the assurance of an immediate anti-drugs drive.
