After Steve Jobs, the rightful, and possibly the sole claimant to the title of an entrepreneur-visionary, is Elon Musk. It was Musk’s wit and his oddball sense of the world that was on full display when he chose to send his old Tesla Roadster with a space-suited mannequin strapped in as the payload of his new rocket Falcon Heavy. Going by the irony and irreverence marking this endeavour, one is almost tempted to forget that the successful launch of the Falcon Heavy is simultaneously a great leap for mankind. In 2008, after three failed launches, Musk’s company had succeeded in launching the Falcon1 rocket into space. He had, then, commented that reaching orbit is a country thing, not a company thing.
