The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) pushed back Friday against a claim being amplified by liberal politicians and activists that federal agents who deployed to Portland to disperse protesters this week aren’t identifying themselves. In a statement, DHS insisted that agents are identifying themselves as Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) agents. In its statement, the federal law enforcement agency did not elaborate about any incidents of personnel being doxed. The group said federal agents threatened to shoot Brown even though he wore shirts that indicated he was with the press or legal observer. Civil rights groups and protesters have accused the Portland police and federal agents of a heavy-handed response to demonstrations against police brutality and racism.
