The Naval Postgraduate School in Monterey, California, removed his thesis from its online archive on Friday, Lt. Cmdr. Clarke's thesis was replaced on the school's online archive with a message saying, "This item was removed from view at the discretion of the Naval Postgraduate School." ..."It was a time of turmoil for Clarke and the sheriff's office even before the job announcement and the plagiarism allegations. Clarke wasn't among the seven because prosecutors say he wasn't directly involved in the events leading up to the inmate's death.
