THE Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) repatriated 285 distressed overseas Filipinos (OFs) from Bahrain, Lebanon and Syria. They arrived on December 29 under the repatriation program of the Philippine embassies in Manama, Beirut and Damascus, respectively. The evacuees were composed of 29 Filipinos from Bahrain, including three infants; 253 from Beirut; and three from Syria, the Foreign Affairs department said in a statement. This brings to 323,436 the total number of OFs brought home under the government’s repatriation program since the start of the pandemic. So, all who are eligible, all who want to go home, [there’s] no discrimination; we [will] bring you home,” Ver added.
