MANILA, Philippines — A netizen recently filed an online petition urging the Department of Environment and Resources to reject the government’s move to construct the executive secretary cottage in Baguio City. Clinton Balud, a resident of Baguio City, last week made an online petition at Change.org, citing that the building of the executive secretary cottage will entail cutting of trees anew. There are cottages at Cabinet Hill they can use when they come to Baguio,” Balud wrote in the petition. It already surpassed the 5,000 mark as 5,026 netizens already signed the online petition as of posting. Balud said the online petition would be sent to DENR once completed.
