A suspected murderer has been killed in a gunfight with Detective Branch (DB) of police in the Pirerbag area of Dhaka’s Mirpur in the early hours of Friday. The dead is said to be involved in the murder of DB police Inspector Jalal Uddin who was killed on March 19 during an operation. Over two months after the incident, on March 19, a team of DB police ran an operation in Pirerbag house number 1021. Inspector Jalal Uddin was trying to climb up when the miscreants noticed him and hit him with a brick. DB Inspector Jahangir, alias Jalal Uddin, died of brain damage at Square Hospital around 2am on March 20.
