Ambassador Ku Jaafar Ku Shaari has said the "decisive victory" of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's party in the December 30 election is a reflection of people's aspirations. The Secretary General hoped that this historic and resounding victory will pave the way ahead for a strong, united and prosperous Bangladesh. The D-8 Secretary General said Bangladesh's engagement with D-8 Organization for Economic Cooperation will intensify. Developing 8 Organization for Economic Cooperation (D-8), founded in 1997, aims to increase economic cooperation among its Member States to boost economic growth, sustain development and promote the well-being of their citizens.
