Cyclone still causing problems in Buller seven years on

The slip happened in the upper catchment of Lake Stream on the West Coast. A cyclone that slammed New Zealand seven years ago is still causing headaches for Buller landowners. The storm caused a massive slip in the hills high above Lake Stream, north of Westport. The West Coast Regional Council meeting was told last week that engineering staff had made several inspections of the slip and its fallout. In the meantime, regional council staff would continue to monitor the progress of the Lake Stream slip.
