It was situated about 990 km southeast of Chennai coast in Tamil Nadu state of India and about 1700 km from Chattogram coast. It is likely to intensify till Wednesday evening and thereafter recurve north-northeastwards gradually, according to India Meteorological Department. Bangladesh Meteorological Department on Saturday said the cyclonic storm may move towards Andhra coast in India. All fishing boats and trawlers over North Bay and deep sea have been advised to proceed with caution till further notice. Mild to moderate heat wave sweeping over Rajshahi and Khulna divisions and the regions of Tangail, Faridpur, Gopalgonj, Dhaka and Rangmati may continue.
