Cycle & Carriage slumps 5.97% in thin trade on poor 3Q earnings


At 9.03am, CCB fell 20 sen to RM3.15 with 8,000 shares done. CCB yesterday said the change in sales mix in favour of lower-priced vehicles led to reduced revenue and profits despite an improvement in unit sales. Earnings per share for the quarter fell to 8.22 sen versus 13.36 sen.Quarterly revenue fell 16.8% to RM380.26 million versus RM456.92 million a year ago. For the cumulative nine-month period ended Sept 30, 2016 (9MFY16), its net profit was down 10.7% to RM37.46 million or 37.18 sen per share, against RM41.93 million or 41.62 sen per share in the same period last year. 9MFY16 revenue declined by 5.9% to RM1.12 billion compared with RM1.19 billion a year earlier.
