A Sligo mum of two who had her cancer treatment cancelled last week due to the cyber attack on the HSE systems pleaded with the government to pay the ransom. Last week, hackers believed to be based in Russia targeted the HSE systems with a ransomware attack which caused a complete shutdown of the systems. That's fine, but that's no good to the people in five weeks time that might not be with us anymore. "The treatment that I get is one step longer to prolonging my life and giving me quality of life," Charlotte explained. "They will give you every option available to them and yet our government won't take an option that's there.
