According to Bekoe who won the Ghana league with Asante Kotoko, young players are often under the illusion that their energy levels in their 20’s will never desert them as they advance in age. “Because they are young the energy is there but you will be betrayed by the energy one day. It will prompt you when you are getting weaker because you have all the energy to make money,” Bekoe said on Ghanaweb’s Sports Check show. The former Ghana Premier League player also noted that players become complacent when they are performing well forgetting that their clubs have the power to replace them at any time.
