On a posting from their website from Sept. 15, South Algonquin Township let the public know about some work being done on McKenzie Lake Road that requires some temporary road closures from Sept. 20 until the construction ceases on Oct. 1. McKenzie Lake Road is an 8.7-kilometre road in Sabine ward in South Algonquin. A culvert is a pipe that allows water to flow under a road, from one side to the other. McKenzie Lake Road will be closed for these culvert replacements from Sept. 20 at 7 a.m. to Oct. 1 at 11:59 p.m. at various points along the road as the work progresses. Bryan Martin, the CAO/clerk-treasurer, says that the construction on McKenzie Lake Road was part of the annual drainage upgrades in the township was its funding was factored into the last municipal budget.
