Toronto Star business reporter Rosa Saba has been honoured for her coverage of the federal government’s rocky rollout of pandemic supports. Saba placed silver in the breaking news category of the 2020 Canada Best in Business Awards for a series of stories about confusion around Canada Emergency Response Benefit (CERB) payments. “Rosa’s coverage of the problems with the rollout of the CERB program was second to none,” said Duncan Hood, the Star’s business editor. It was good to see that recognized.”A graduate of Carleton University, Saba joined StarMetro Calgary in 2018 before moving to the Star’s business section in 2020. She has also worked as a digital editor at The Globe and Mail, and as a tech and business reporter at the Ottawa Business Journal.
