The two agreements were signed by Crown Cement Executive Director Md Habibur Rahman Mollah, GPH Ispat Director Md Ashrafuzzaman and Housing and Building Research Institute Director Engineer Mohammad Abu Sadeque at Dhaka’s Sonargaon Hotel on Sunday. Housing and Public Works Minister Engineer Mosharraf Hossain was also present for the event. The Housing and Building Research Institute will provide technical and research support to Crown Cement and GPH Ispat to develop and improve environment-friendly building materials, including cement, steel and concrete. In his speech as chief guest, Hossain emphasised the need for eco-friendly construction and lauded the companies for playing their roles in reaching the goal. Crown Cement Additional Managing Director Mohammed Alamgir Kabir and Md Ashrafuzzaman also spoke at the event.
