SUNDAY PUZZLE — Our constructor today, Brad Wiegmann, is brand-new, a babe in the woods, an innocent lamb. Mr. Wiegmann embarked on his dream of making a crossword over a year ago, while on vacation from his job as a national security lawyer for the United States Department of Justice. You will need your thinking cap, too, because we have widespread trivia, some of it ornately clued, some unadorned but challenging. I stumbled over a few deadpan but unusual clues, like the ones for IMAGE and OLDIE (that alternate spelling threw me off). There’s a little “Jeopardy!” feel to this whole puzzle to me, a lot of names and culture questions.
