Crombie retains Photographer of the Year title for 2022Though he “only found out in the last hour or so” before he was announced as the Press Photographer of the year, James Crombie had time to write down a few words. “I’m very humbled to have won this tonight, and I’m constantly in awe of the work of my fellow press photographers in Ireland, the amazing standard of photography is truly outstanding. “Thanks very much.”In her citation, host Miriam O’Callaghan said: “Choosing the press photographer of the year was an extremely difficult task. “The photographer wins the overall award based on their enthusiastic, innovative approach, the diversity of their work, their hard work ethic and the sheer excellence of execution.
