Critical injuries after farm machinery traps man


A man has been airlifted to Dunedin Hospital with critical injuries after he was trapped under a feed spreader that rolled on him at Moa Flat in West Otago this afternoon. A police spokeswoman said emergency services were called about 2.20pm following reports of a workplace incident on farmland in Moa Flat Rd. The feed spreader had rolled down a hill on the property and come to rest with the man trapped underneath, she said. Fenz were notified by St John to the incident and the crews free the man shortly before 4pm and left him in the care of paramedics. St John spokesman Gerard Campbell confirmed the man’s injuries were critical and he been airlifted by helicopter.
