According to Diario Noticias and Madeira Island News, the suspect entered the property when a maintenance employee opened the garage door. It is claimed the trespasser did not stay for long in the residence and made off with a signed Juventus shirt, worth roughly €200 (£182), and other small objects. A member of Ronaldo's family alerted the authorities leading to the arrival of the Public Security Police and plain-clothed officers from the Technical Police Unit. The Juventus striker himself spent part of the Covid-19 lockdown at the residence with partner, Georgina, and their children. Ronaldo purchased the property in 2015 and it boasts sea views, two swimming pools and a football pitch.
