SportSri Lanka Cricket (SLC) has appointed former Sri Lanka captain Hashan Tillakaratne as the new coach of the Under-19 team. His appointment is effective until the next ICC Under-19 World Cup. Tillakaratne, who was once the batting coach of the Sri Lankan team is a qualified level 2 and 3 Coach (ICC Global). He was also the Head Coach of the Galle Team, who became the runner-up of the Super Provincial Limited Over Tournament 2017. Tillakaratne, who represented Sri Lanka in 83 Tests and 200 ODIs, represented the country in four ICC Worlds Cups.
